my first blog for design 112

Hey my name is Ashley
And I am currently a first year design student at Victoria University in Wellington NZ
I am now in my Second Trimester which means i survived the first 12 weeks of life as a sleepless, caffeine induced design student which comes with design experiences including an apprehensive first day, the final countdowns just minutes before dead lines, meeting great and talented people, making awesome mates that see you through the late nights and getting frustrated with computers and digital equipment. . . .and still I'm having the time of my life doing what I love

My memorable project from the first trimester was from my 111 course where i had to create a model generated from ideas based on the movement of a joint/ bone structure in the body
my joint was the spine
my first initial model was made up of card discs which I then replicated in clay the model consisted of 13 discs the moved across one another and could be manipulated in any given direction i engaged the user by making the discs fit snugly in the palm of their hands. the clay would warm with warmth of the user and encouraged them to play with the discs.
